We have two new Year in Review infographics for you courtesy of Debbie Lind, Director of Wallowa Public Library, and Amy Kitchen, Marketing and Communications Graphic Designer for the Johnson County Public Library. Both designs do an excellent job highlighting the ins and outs of a year at a busy public library and share statistics with easy-to-read graphics and clean layouts.

Here’s Debbie discussing her design below:

I wanted my design to be cheerful and readable with attention grabbing colors and graphics. Not a lot of words to tell my message but enough to read to get my message across.

Lesson 4 Designing Infograph

Amy used Illustrator to create her graphic, and has the following to say about her work (which you can find on our Google Drive.

The year-in-review infographic is a visual representation of the Johnson County Public Library’s yearly statistics. JCPL staff uses this tool to not only inform the Board in a visually-appealing and digestible way, but it is utilized by our director and marketing team to share the story of how the four library branches serve our county. These statistics are the springboard for conversations about more than number of people we serve or items borrowed, but about how each library provides accessible, free tools to the community – from wifi and computers for finding a new job to storytimes that help connect moms and toddlers to book discussions that bring people of different ideas, cultures and backgrounds together to learn from each other in a welcoming environment.
